Traditionally, the Ojibway and Sioux Indians of Minnesota harvested wild rice with two people in a canoe or wooden boat. One person poled th boat through the rice bed, while the other, using knocking sticks, knocked the rice kernels into the boat. The rice was the parched; the hulls removed, and using birch bark winnowing baskets the rice was seperated from the chaff. Today, the majority of wild rice offered in markets has been prepared with modern adaptations of these traditional methods. Singing Pines Wild Rice brings only the best of each year's wild rice crop to you.

The rice is fresh, chewy, flavorful and delicious. The order arrived quickly and complete. Excellent service, price and quality! Love the recipes that come with the rice, especially the wild rice and sausage casserole, a family winter favorite for years! (Posted on 3/5/16)

This is not the first time I have ordered wild rice from Glen's. We really enjoyed the first order, so I ordered it again. My only unhappy thing about my order was that it was left in the pouring rain by FedEx. I am so thankful that it was packed in plastic pouches. I was not happy about that! Otherwise my order was exactly what I wanted. (Posted on 12/1/15)
