- great scope at a great price ... Review by tim
Quality Price Value
Had I desired to pay more, and have the scope weight more, I would have gone with VX-Patrol., which is 30 mm is heavier, but more directly to tactical purposes and list for about
$599, has red dot etc ... So too is a Bushnell Elite, but I didn't want to pay $1200 for that either, or a Burris with PEPR mount. All to pricey and too heavy. Rifle come is now at 9.6#, rigged and unloaded..
This basically a traditional Leupold VX scope at a price point and with "Tactical" turrets that are easily bumped to a different setting. Maybe I missed a special instruction that allows them to be tighhtened once set. Mine does not have the "firedot" which would be nice. but not for another $200 .
With Leupold, if you pay more incrementally, you generally get more than incremental value. All and all a good approach over those with a $200, $800, $1200, $1500 and any up price points.
This scope is a great entry level traditional-cloned to a tactical form factor scope for the money. I appears to be a VX-2 Hog Scope on steriods with tactical towers.
Both are rugged, witth great glass, easy to work with and at a great price point. For range, plinking, gentle competition, you can't go wrong with either, or one with a "fire dot" option for a little more.
I look forward to using it for a long while.
