Being small footed, I have an extremely difficult time finding REAL work boots and following the requirements of footwear by my employer! These boots are ROCK SOLID! I purchased the hiker style for summer work (cooler). The comp toes are so much lighter than steel, and the toes are wider to compensate for the comp toe. The heel is nice and small. NO slipping. The hikers for me are true to size, and the first day I wore them, all 10 hours, slopping around in mud, power washing bridges, walking many miles, they where comfortable and YES waterproof. I'm SOLD on G. Retreivers so far, I'm curious as to how long they will last. I've been wearing Timberland "PRO'S 8" w.p., Titanium toes but soles didn't seem to last. Shot within 9 months. The "tongue" on the G. Retreivers a little too thick/padded but I'm sure they will wear in. That's the only thing I have to say against the G. Retreivers.
