The versatility of a Salmo Minnow is what makes them so deadly on so many species of fish. We recommend you use a small snap swivel or a loop knot when you tie on your favorite minnow size. The solid hard body design lets you cast the Minnow a mile, while letting you have the option of a slow or fast retrieve.
Light lines really let the Minnow wiggle and with the slow sinking models, you are able to get the Minnow to almost any depth. Don’t think for a minute you are limited to simply casting and retrieving the Salmo Minnow. You can twitch it, pull it, snap it or just let your Minnow sit motionless on the surface.
We have found that one of the secrets to success with the Salmo Minnows has a lot to do with the type of rod you select to fish with. Our extensive on the water experience has shown us that a soft tip rod is best. In fact, a rod that is designed for lures up to only 1/2 ounce are best. The soft tip seems to permit the fish to inhale the bait easier and the soft action also keeps the hooks from tearing the mouth of the fish. Lighter is better when fishing with the Salmo Minnow.
If you are looking for a minnow bait that comes alive in the water, then the Salmo Minnow series does exactly that. Ideal for trout and crappie, in the #5 and #6 sizes and the bass and walleye fans will love the size and action of the #7 and #9 Minnow. The Salmo Minnow series is available in both floating and sinking models.
Always use a snap or loop knot when fishing with this Salmo Lure.
