Description

Another Marcum Technologies first—the ShowDown Troller is the first portable, handheld ice fishing sonar engineered with top-level fish-finding features loaded into an iPod sized device. The Troller fits easily inside your coat pocket, but don’t let its palm size fool you—this compact little unit delivers full-sized performance, juiced by 4,000 watts of power and boasting 2-inch target separation. Scouting structure has never been easier. The Troller clearly displays digital automatic depth, while revealing vegetation and fish, and can even read signals right through the ice. Once you’ve located a prime area, deploy the transducer down a hole, and watch your jig and surrounding fish in Crystal-Quick time on the LCD display. The ShowDown Troller enhances ice fishing success for anglers of all experience levels—that’s part of what has made it the hottest new tool on ice. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced hole-hopper, you won’t step onto the ice without one. Beginners enjoy the simplicity and ease of use, while veteran anglers like the stealth, mobility and high-level fish-finding features offered by the Marcum engineered Troller. Run and gun on ice, powering the Troller with 6 AA batteries. Or stop and fish a while, instantly converting to 12-volt power, by making use of the optional Performance Pack.

Showdown Ice-Troller March 1, 2012
Reviewer: Troy Gerow from Bucksport, ME United States
I have only had a chance to use the unit a couple of times.  I like it so far.  I really wanted the package deal with the case and battery but was sold out. I have noticed that it seems to go thru the 6 AA batteries pretty quick.  I got this as a 2nd sonar to hole hop outside the shack or to set traps or to quickly check water depths.  I think it is going to be very useful.  One other drawback that I noticed besides the battery life is that the transducer connection comes out of the back.  It seems to be in the way if you want to lay the unit down or rest it on your leg while sitting.  I think it would be easier to use if the connection came out of the top of the unit.  Looking forward to getting the case and battery for next season.  I would recommend it to anyone who needs a 2nd sonar or doesn't want to spend $300 or more for another sonar.

Marcum Showdown Ice-Troller Handheld Sonar January 19, 2012
Reviewer: Darvin Bethke from Wyoming, MN United States
Placed the order on a Saturday 1/7/12, delivery on Tuesday (only 3 days to deliver). I am very impressed.

Following Saturday went Ice fishing on Coon Lake in MN. Unit worked exactally as advertised. Easy to read, bait about 12 inches off bottom, saw fish come in at about 2 1/2 feet off bottom, raised bait, fish and bait became one, landed the 24" walleye. Had to release second 22" walleye 1/2 hr. later. (can only keep one over 20" in MN.) Experience was a total success.
