I owned a Strikemaster Magnum Plus for 17 years and it finally gave out on me, so I purchased the Eskimo Z51 from Glen's. Their service was wonderful and I am toatally impressed with the auger. It runs terrific with a lot more power than my old Strikemaster. I drilled over 12 holes the first time out and it cut's like butter!

For the price of this Auger you can't beat it! It arrived in the mail and 3 days later I was on 12 inches of ice and this auger plowed threw it in less than 30 seconds, thats not even at full power!! You have to be careful when handling it though because there is alot of plastic around the engine. If you accidently dropped it, you'll crack something. The new aluminium handle bars are really sturdy and the foam handle bars make it alot easier to hold/control. Only Auger with a 2 year warrenty that you don't have to pay extra for! Overall product is great!

Eskimo Shark z-51 ice auger |

This is a great ice auger once you figure out how to start it. I live in Colorado and fish at 5500 to 7000 ft. The directions were poor and the customer service did answer back the next day. Once I told customer service how to adjust for elevation from advice from a friend, the auger ran and cut smoothly and quickly my 10 inch diameter holes. Anyway buy the auger. It works great, although the instruction manual really sucks for making elevation adjustments. Also there not any included oil or a spark plug wrench included, which I think all 2 stroke engines need sooner or later. Oh yea, easy on the prime bulb. Two pushes will flood the engine badly. p. s. Elevation adjustment--open sparkplug gap to 35-40 thousands of an inch, gap. It works great.

The first trip out I had some issues with the choke, but it didn't take long to figure out how to use it and now I have no problems with starting. The clutch seemed to have some issues with engaging and keeping up with the motor but after reading the instructions, they say the clutch takes about 20 hours to break in. If thats the case, after it gets broke in, I will be extremely happy with this auger. Glens was the cheapest place I could purchase this even after the shipping costs. Was delivered fast and in great shape. I appreciated the free storage bag as well.
